I recently blogged about an issue raised by a colleague regarding course articulation between different higher ed institutions. The gist: credits one of my students earned in an upper-division majors class was not allowed to transfer with that student when she moved campuses, entirely because I had used OER and instructor-created materials for my course. Since I didn't have a traditional textbook listed on my class syllabus, my student now has to re-take essentially the same course, and although I saved her course materials costs on my campus, she's now spent even more money to retake the course (and purchase their required traditional textbook!)

I'd enjoy hearing your thoughts. The full blog post is hosted on my blog:

Thanks for feedback!
