* in a German-Russian young scientist competition: prepare in a forum discussion phase and then write and upload Short reports or Essays on any of the 14 questions, among which one asks: "Open access Internet sources in stem cell biology and medicine: is their current use optimal?"
- The first phase starts on 1 October 2011, upload submissions to the Jury by 12 November, winners of phase I to be announced by 1 December 2011

The Maximow Award is taking place within the framework of the German-Russian Year of Education, Science and Innovation 2011/2012. Under the title "Development of Stem Cell Transplantation: a Debate", the competition is kindly funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). It is a special cooperation project designed by the Transplant Centers of Hamburg and St. Petersburg and the journal Cellular Therapy and Transplantation (CTT), http://www.ctt-journal.com
