Join us at UCL for an afternoon event to discuss the current Open Access publishing landscape, and the variety of publishing models that are emerging. The speakers represent different options for Open Access publishing:

• Dr Alma Swan, a scholarly communications consultant and former Director of European Advocacy for SPARC, has undertaken major projects investigating Open Access and provides a Europe-wide perspective

• Dr Martin Paul Eve, senior lecturer in Literature, Technology and Publishing at Birkbeck, University of London, and a founder of the Open Library of Humanities, an Open Access journal platform funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation

• Rosalind Pyne, Research and Development Manager for Open Research, Springer Nature Group, offers her views on how commercial publishers are supporting Open Access initiatives

• Lara Speicher, Publishing Manager, UCL Press, describes the motives behind setting up UCL Press, the first fully OA university press in the UK, and its plans for the future.

The event will be chaired by Professor Cheryl Thompson, Professor of Judicial Studies and Vice Dean (Research), UCL Faculty of Laws, and introduced by Dr Paul Ayris, Director of UCL Library Services and CEO of UCL Press.
