Event Description

A panel discussion on how open access to information (OA) influences local and international development issues. We will be discussing:

  • How OA can alter the current research climate
  • Factors that determine the global research agenda
  • How the traditional publishing model affects what subjects get researched and which problems find solutions

Our speakers’ areas of interest:

  • Andrew Clarke – Open Source software
  • Kevin Howard – Community Development
  • Suzanne Linnane –Water is Life: Amazzi Bulamu  - Progress to safe water provision in rural Uganda
  • Alec Rolston – Water management and community engagement
