Open Access Week

October 23 - 29, 2023 | Everywhere

Great webcast yesterday organized by the Berkeley chapter of the Students for Free Culture. Nick Shockey at the Right to Research Coalition and Julia Mortyakova of the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS) have been busy on Capitol Hill making the case for OA with lawmakers.

Today, we'll hear from Catherine Nancarrow, a managing editor at PLoS, who will talk about her experience on the congressional panel that reviewed "the current state of public access to federally-funded research in science, technology and medicine."

Finally, OA week continues into November with a talk by John Willinsky of the Stanford School of Education and the Public Knowledge Foundation who will talk on "Open Access and other Intellectual Properties of Learning."
