Dear Arun,

thank you for your comment. Yes, we will keep pushing for openness: http://www.mendeley.com/blog/press-release/announcing-mendeley-open-api/, http://www.nytimes.com/external/readwriteweb/2010/04/29/29readwriteweb-mendeley-throws-open-the-doors-to-academic-43750.html

And regarding Mendeley Desktop: What is free now at Mendeley will remain free, so you can be sure there will always be a free version. We will not take anything away from the existing feature set - in fact we are still adding more and more features to the free version. The premium features will for example include more upload space, more recommendations (once they are up and running), and fewer limitations for collaboration (e.g. increased group limits). Therefore, Mendeley will continue to improve in its free version, whilst we are working on even more exciting features for the future.

I hope you are doing well, and we'll have the chance to meet sometime soon!

Best wishes
Jan

Respected Dr. Arunachalam

Your Reply is quite heartening & motivating for me. It will be like a dream come true to work with you. Presently I am working as Asstt. Librarian in G.B.Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar Dist. U S Nagar Uttarakhand. This is a State Agriculture University (SAU) under National Agriculture Research System (NARS). We do have an Institutional Repository on D-space Software platform.but we require technical support for making this repository functional & visible. It is my ambition to create an OA culture in this University and NARS before embarking on the mission for country itself. I will be in touch with you for my endeavours in future in this regard.

With Due Regards
