<p>Brian Kelly of the Innovation Support Centre at UKOLN, University of Bath, UK will be giving a series of presentations across the UK on how social media can be used to enhance the visibility of research papers hosted in institutional repositories.</p>
<p>The week begins with an hour-long talk on "<a href="http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/events/seminars/exeter-open-access-week-2012/" target="_blank">Open Practices for the Connected Researcher</a>" which will take place on Tuesday 23 October…</p>
<p>Brian Kelly of the Innovation Support Centre at UKOLN, University of Bath, UK will be giving a series of presentations across the UK on how social media can be used to enhance the visibility of research papers hosted in institutional repositories.</p>
<p>The week begins with an hour-long talk on "<a href="http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/events/seminars/exeter-open-access-week-2012/" target="_blank">Open Practices for the Connected Researcher</a>" which will take place on Tuesday 23 October at the University of Exeter as part of <a href="http://as.exeter.ac.uk/library/resources/openaccess/" target="_blank">their series of Open Access Week events</a>.</p>
<p>A 30 minute talk on "<a href="http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/events/seminars/salford-open-access-week-2012/" target="_blank">Open Practices for the Connected Researcher</a>" will take place on Thursday 25 October at the University of Salford as the featured invited presentation for the <a href="http://staff.salford.ac.uk/news/details/3060" target="_blank">university celebrations for Open Access Week</a>.</p>
<p>Final Brian Kelly and Ross Mounce, a P<span>hD student and Open Knowledge Foundation Panton Fellow at the University of Bath, will <a href="http://www.bath.ac.uk/learningandteaching/rdu/courses/pgskills/modules/RP00285.htm" target="_blank">launch the Social Media programme for researchers</a><span> </span>with a session on </span><span>"<a href="http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/events/seminars/bath-open-access-week-2012/" target="_blank">Open Access and Open Practices For Researchers</a>"</span></p>
<p><span>The slides to be used in the presentations will be available with a Creative Commons CC-BY licence.
